| The way to enjoy your career teaching? Create courses you would want to take! My first years I spent teaching freshmen biology to students who were forced to take the course. By my 3rd year teaching, I realized I could create a course that students could CHOOSE to take, leading to much more enjoyment and learning by all. I developed Forensic Science as an elective course. It grew to 3 sections, so most of my day was spent creating curriculum for students who WANTED to learn from me.
