Hi, I am Heidi! Welcome to my website! I am a former high school teacher, now college professor, here to pass on my knowledge and advice to other high school teachers!
I spent about five years teaching high school biology, struggling to create meaningful lessons while overwhelmed teaching, building relationships, and fighting imposter syndrome. It took many years for me to create resources that I was proud of, even though I was constantly reinventing or readapting the wheel.
I finally realized how to create authentic lessons that engaged my students in real-world circumstances. I finally realized how to build lessons that mattered to them and engage them in real and transformative conversations about science and the world around us. I am here to share my lessons with those who need them, as well as share my teaching strategies and tips for success in the classroom.
